No regrets (part 2)

Having just graduated as class of 2021, as I think back on my last three years on this campus, I have come to one realization: Christians on Campus was the highlight of my college career. Sure, there are fond memories of my roommates and I having Super Bowl parties and enjoying walks around campus after a victory against UNC, but when it comes to growing, sharing laughs, making accomplishments that were not just about myself, having late-night conversations, and establishing a more mature relationship with God, all of my memories go back to Christians on Campus. There are many uncertainties that will arise during college years, but one thing that is certain is that there will be inescapable moments of reflection when it comes to what you want to do with your life and how much you want God to be involved.

God wants to be in your career and life choices, but it’s up to each one of us to accept His presence. It’s not enough, although it may seem like will be, to just tell ourselves that God is with us in what we do and where we go, and it’s something else entirely to live like we believe it to be true. Hours, days, or even weeks of trial will appear, and without a community to be found in, without those who we can mutually support in fellowship, those trials can easily become overbearing.

Christians on Campus is my support group, it’s my friend group, it’s my place of comfort and each member spends each week preparing themselves to be just that for each and every student that seeks it. When I was studying all day and didn’t have time to go out and get dinner, another member of the club provided a way. When a fellow student wanted to talk about a Biblical issue weighing on their heart or needed a ride somewhere, I made it my focus to listen to them and get them to their destination. This is the Body of Christ in full operation. This is why spending time with the fellow believers within the club was something I wanted to do each evening that I could. It wasn’t an obligation or a requirement, but it was a gulp of refreshing water. To be united in one Body is God’s plan for each one of us. The Lord’s goal is to fill us with His Spirit, to prepare the Body, and to move through us. This involves His moving throughout campus. With my time with Christians on Campus, I have felt a heart-warming community that cares to see and experience this exact moving of the Spirit.
